Developing the Talents of Academically Gifted High School Students: Issues for Secondary School AdministratorsCenter for Talent Development, School of Education and Social Policy, Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill. School administrators face many issues in dealing with gifted high school students. Among them are providing classes and academic experiences that are sufficiently challenging to keep students engaged and working in their field. Two aspects of this issue are explored here using out-of-school resources to develop academic talent to a high level, and creating conditions within the school classroom to support talented students.
